Kickboxing Session With Neeraj Mehta

Although the true roots of kickboxing date back to Asia 2,000 years ago, modern competitive kickboxing actually started in the 1970s, when American karate experts arranged competitions that allowed  full-contact kicks and punches that had been banned in karate.
Because of health and safety concerns, padding and protective clothing and safety rules were introduced into the sport over the years, which led to the various forms of competitive kickboxing practiced  in the United States today. The forms differ in the techniques used and the amount of physical contactthat is allowed between the competitors.

As Bruce Lee said, "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times", Perfection can only be achieved if you practice regularly.

Right technique is important in order to prevent injuries. Kickboxing requires the use of all the muscle groups associated with the upper and lower body, including the core area. The legs become more toned and defined through the kicks and jumping movements.
The core and torso area of the body is conditioned through the requirements to rotate, bend and support all movements and sequences that are performed. The back, shoulders and arms are conditioned through the movements that require punching and blocking.

Pushups are one of the best bodyweight workouts ever. The beauty of the pushup is that you can do it anywhere, anytime. It's a great all-encompassing exercise that hits not only your arms and chest but also gets a burn going in your core. The only downside is that busting out the same old up-and-down routine day after day can start to feel tedious. So it might be time to switch it up with a few new challenging moves. You'll feel more motivated, diversify the muscle groups you're hitting, and build muscle and strength.

If done with correct technique pushups would give you very effective results. You should do the movement as per BMXStrength.

·         Place your palms inline with your chest, and slightly diagonal.
·         Understanding the movement is important, you don’t have to lift your scapula bones because that way you would be using the power of your shoulders more.
·         When you place your palms diagonally and inline with your chest line, your body mechanics becomes correct.
·         If you have been doing it incorrectly then this move may feel difficult to you, but this is how you would be able to use the power of your chest muscles and you will be able to strengthen them.

In the given video I am showing you 4 different variations of pushups, which you can include in your chest day routine.

·         Regular Pushups.
·         Pushup variation.
·         Wrestling Pushups.
·         One leg up pushup

5 power up moves for your abs-

5 power up moves for your abs-

We know that the basic abdominal floor crunch is old news at this point, and you want to take core training to the next level. Not a bad choice, considering almost all of our daily tasks require core strength (yes, even sitting at your desk).
Before you start your new training Let me clear one myth, if you think that doing 1000 basic crunches daily would give you a hard core then you are thinking wrong.
Your abdominal muscle (Transverse abdominis, Rectus abdominis, external oblique muscles, internal oblique muscles) require more than just basic crunches to get shaped properly. You need to hit these muscles with different angles with intensity to get effective and visible result.

Below is a circuit to shape up your abdomen fast. The circuit includes 5 exercises.

·         Weighted Crunches
·         Weighted twisting crunches
·         Plank with knee up
·         Advanced Plank
·         V-sit ups

Do 15 reps of each exercise and repeat the circuit 3 times.  Advance Plank hold would be for 30 secs.

Key points to remember:

·         Do not do jerky movements.
·         During the movement, exhale and do the crunch. There should be no air inside your abdomen while doing the crunch.
·         While doing the plank do not hold your breath.
·         Rest time between 2 circuits is 10 seconds.
